Luna
Name: Luna
Age: 12 years
Sex: Female
Weight: 19lbs.
Altered: Yes
Previous Life: Owner Surrender(after family member passed)
Good with Dogs: Yes
Good with Cats: Yes
Good with Kids: Yes
Likes: Being near her people e.c. laying at the foot of her foster dads recliner or lazy Sundays on the couch watching a movie. She has occasional interest in a Whimzee or other chew bones.
Dislikes: Being alone, being kenneled, and going outside in less than desirable weather. She also has no interest in playing with toys.
House trained: Working on it! Luna is a bit stubborn about house training. If she is taking a nap, she needs to go outside immediately after waking up. We offer potty pads for her when she is left home alone. She absolutely does not like being kenneled, but if left in a closed room with a dog bed, some water, potty pads and another dog, she curls up and sleeps the day away. She will use the potty pads when she is left alone for the day.
Crate trained: Gets highly anxious and cries in a crate. She likes dog beds during the day and likes sleeping with her people at night.
Fenced yard required: No, but she does like to have one. She does not like going potty when she wears a leash but she will eventually do so.
Special needs: Some separation anxiety if left alone without a human or another dog. She requires a home with another small dog, pug or otherwise. She is hard of hearing but not deaf.
Luna is a beautiful senior apricot pug. She is as sweet as can be and loves to cuddle. She gets very attached to her people. She was returned to Pug Partners of Nebraska years after being adopted due to her loving owner passing away. Her pug sibling had also recently passed away so Luna was feeling quite sad when she came into foster care. Within a few days she settled and began to show her personality.
Luna is set in her ways but quickly learns to love new people and dogs. She is quite the cuddler and humorous with her unique way of communicating (She really does not bark but she makes her wishes known quite vocally by “yelling” at you until you get things right). She has some separation anxiety if she is completely alone but if she has another dog she does very well.
On days nobody is home, she stays in a spare bedroom with a foster sister and is calm and quiet. She would love a forever retirement home with someone who is home often and has a dog buddy for her. She doesn’t run or play but she loves to have company to cuddle with. If a family or person is home with her at all times, she would be fine without another dog but she very much needs constant company of some kind.
A quirky, humorous, and photogenic senior girl, Luna is looking for a family to give her the forever home and happy ending she deserves.
